‘Productivity and Development’ has
completed ten years of its regular publication.
This quarterly serial has endeavored to present
ideas, knowledge and experiences in the subject
of productivity contributed by different writers
in Nepal, and reprints and extracts from relevant
foreign publications. The Editorial Committee
has been effortful to make it useful to productivity
facilitators and practitioners in government,
private sector, academics and community centered
organizations. While we are effortful to address
the information needs of SMEs, we equally try
to make this publication useful to policy makers,
trainers, civil service and civil society, as
these have a vital role to play in promoting productivity
culture for socio-economic development in different
segments of society in the country. However, we
are very much aware of the need to make the contents
of this serial useful to Nepali readers, publishing
the matters in the Nepali language.
Considering that productivity needs to be conceptualized
and practiced with a holistic approach to address
the country’s development needs, this serial
will be brought out under a changed title starting
from the next issue, that is Volume 11 No. 1.
The new title of this publication shall be ‘Productivity
and Sustainable Development.’
This issue, as the preceeding ones, has attempted
to bring out a wide array of articles ranging
from e-commerce to productivity measurement, consumer
and quality awareness, TQM, social dimensions
of productivity and information on NPEDC’s
promotional activities. We need more write-ups
in Nepali language, and here by, request the contributors
to send articles in the Nepali language. Articles
selected by the Editorial Committee shall be attractively
remunerated.
The Publisher and the Editorial Committee sincerely
request for comments and feedback from the distinguished
readers. Your valuable comments and suggestions
would definitely help us in making this publication
more useful.
During the last quarter of the current Fiscal
Year, (mid April to mid July) NPEDC undertook
various programs on productivity which are summarized
in this issue. The relevant details shall be elaborately
brought out in the forthcoming issues along with
the articles of topical interest to our readers.
For our forthcoming issues, we would like to
invite analytical, informative and thought-provoking
articles on productivity and competitiveness in
Nepali industry and trade sector, and on sustainable
development approaches, achievements and success
stories in government, private and civil society
sector. Write-ups in the Nepali language with
floppy or CD shall be very much appreciated. |
